It seems like writers have stopped writing on this most important subject of life - Honesty. This can be seen from the scarcity for books as well as training programs on this subject. So a good book on honesty is the need of present times.
Pramod has filled this vacuum extremely well. The best part is that he has examined all the aspects of honesty and dishonesty in a practical, logical and scientific manner. With his wisdom and convincing ability, he has persuaded with full conviction that honesty is not only the best policy but can be the best politics also. His approach is to make reader more knowledgeable and mature instead of preaching, thus increasing natural honesty in readers. In line with the quote by Einstein, “I do not believe in immortality of the individual, and I consider ethics to be an exclusively human concern with no superhuman authority behind it ”, he proves that roots of honesty are within us and not outside us in the form of fear of God or supernatural powers.
At times there is a confusion, if an act is a honest or not. Generally ‘truth is considered as ‘honesty’, but when truth gives harm to others, is it really an honest act? By deriving a universal definition of honesty, this dilemma has been beautifully resolved in the book.
Pramod has also suggested various ways to increase honesty level in a society as well as in politics. The ideas suggested are very comprehensive and practical.
I am convinced that the book will give strength to all those who are on the path of honesty and also make some shift in those who are not. As a result, it can increase honesty level in India as well as the world, and realise our dream to make this world a paradise.
I wish that this book is read by all, especially children, college students and government officers. It even has the scope to be a textbook for value education.
